Community Badminton Tournament Success

On Sunday 5th July 2015 Leicester City Council held the 3rd Annual Community Badminton Tournament at Babington College, Leicester.

The Tournament brought together all the community coaching undertaken in Leicester City.

The Tournament had a record turnout, 28 ladies and 28 men took part in ladies doubles and mens doubles events on the day.

Ajay Pitrola, Badminton Activator for Leicester City Council said, "I was very pleased with the turnout and also impressed with the standard of play. It's very satisfying to see so many people enjoying the sport and doing so well, many of the ladies hadn't played a tournament in their life but with support and coaching, they were able to not only take part but do extremely well. I have also set out signposting many of the participants to join our local competitive clubs. All that took part thoroughly enjoyed themselves and cannot wait for the next one!"
