Leicester Riders got the School Games Primary Sportshall Years 5/6 Underway!

The Primary Sportshall School Games Super-Series finals was held at the Leicester Arena on Tuesday 5^th December, home to the Leicester Riders.

A warm welcome saw the Leicester Rider players (Hampton, Walker and Wright) start the School Games by a giving a motivational speech, which raising the spirits of the young athletes. The event also featured Ben Higgins, a young leader and ambassador, who helped referee the event. His words reflected how amazed he was by the level of performance everyone gave into the competition.

The Primary Sportshall witnessed a high consistency of competitiveness with all schools picking up scores from 452 – 670 points, the top three teams with just 36 points in it. The points collected, involved a series of events including the following: a series of relays, chest push, speed bounce, standing long jump, standing triple jump, vertical jump and soft javelin.

It was Blaby & Harborough's Badgerbrook Primary who finished ahead of second place West Leicester's Marriott Primary and third place North West Leicestershire's Ashby Willesley. South Charnwood (Bishop Ellis) were the worthy winners of the spirit of the games award, showing great sportsmanship in every participant event.
