An Amazing Array of Talent Displayed at the School Games Super-Series Gymnastics Final!

On Wednesday, 13th March over 200 athletes flocked from 23 different schools all over Leicestershire and Rutland to compete in the School Games Super-Series Gymnastics Final in Oakham.

The day which saw KS1, Inclusive, KS2 and KS3 all compete in the Level 3 qualifying rounds to secure their place in the finals. There was an amazing array of talent demonstrated by every gymnasts in each of the three elements, Floor, Body Management and the Vault. With so many talented gymnasts attending, all four competitions were very close, however it was Rutland came out on top, with 3 out of the 4 wins including KS1 & KS2 (Whissendine Primary) and KS3 (Brooke Hill Academy). With Hinckley & Bosworth defending the unbeatable Rutland to win the Inclusive Gymnastics competition.

Every team who attended had the upmost respect for the teachers, judges and fellow team mates, demonstrating values such as passion, self-belief, respect, honesty, teamwork and determination. However Melton, East Leicester, West Leicester and Oadby & Wigston were chosen as the Spirit of the Games winners out of the four competitions, with some of the teams even holding up signs they had created and hi-fiving their team mates after each individual had performed.

We would like to say a special thanks to the competition Manager, Oakham Gymnastics Club and the Judges for making the day run so smoothly.
