Team Leicestershire back for 2021

After a long wait, Team Leicestershire school sport competitions are back with local district fixtures and events underway to feed into the County Knock Out Rounds and Finals to follow.

With Team Leicestershire having traditionally been Secondary age school sport, the programme has developed this year to include Primary age competitions too.

Finals taking place prior to Christmas include Table Tennis (Primary and Secondary) and Football (Primary), with Cross Country events at Prestwold Hall also seeing many brave the weather to get back out there and be a part of school sport around the County.

You can now keep up to date with Team Leicestershire competitions on the move too!

Schools, parents and young people can all engage with the Virtual Together app (powered by Playwaze) and when you join the Virtual Together and Team Leicestershire communities you can track your teams' fixtures, results and progress through the competitions.

Download the Virtual Together app on your mobile device or for more information, visit Virtual Together App | Active Together (active-together.org)

Team Leicestershire Talent

We recently launched our new Team Leicestershire Talent Athlete Support Programme.

It aims to support young talented athletes and sportspeople across Leicestershire, Leicester City and Rutland to achieve their potential through the delivery of a bespoke annual programme of workshops covering subjects such as Strength & Conditioning, Sports Psychology, Nutrition for Sport and Mental Fitness.

Following an application and selection process, we now have 57 young aspiring athletes from across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland who are accessing the workshops and so far have attended Strength & Conditioning and Sports Psychology sessions.

You will soon be able to follow their progress through profiles and blogs on the Active Together website.
