On Tuesday, 26th March, 17 schools took to the Leicester Riders home ground for the Team Leicestershire Basketball Finals. The night saw Year 6-11's and U19's to compete in the final stages to claim the Team Leicestershire titles.
The night brought much excitement and anticipation and a number of parents had turned out to spectate creating motivational atmosphere for the teams.
There was so much talent displayed across all the competitions and all the finals were very closely contested. However it was Glensmere Primary School who took the first victory of the night winning the Year 5/6 Team Leicestershire title with Woodstone Primary in second place. Rawlins played a strong game against The Martin High School to secure the Year 7 trophy. With Rushey Mead taking on St Pauls School in very close game of 32 - 31, with Rushey Mead taking the win. Gartree took the Year 9 trophy after a very strong game.
In the Year 10 final Rawlins secured their second victory of the night with Rushey Mead taking a very strong lead to win the Year 11 final. The U19's Final ended 61 - 40 to Rawlins making that the third win for Rawlins during the evening.
