Summer camps encourage young people with sight loss to get into football

Vista and the Leicester City Community Trust are working in partnership to hold two summer sessions aimed at getting young people with sight issues playing football.

Held at Rawlins Academy on August 8th & 24th, the sessions will provide the opportunity for those who may feel excluded from sport to get out and take part in a safe, inclusive environment.

Vista work to improve lives for those people with sight loss and through their partnership with Leicester City, the summer sessions can provide a unique chance for more youngsters to get into sport thanks to qualified coaches.

Vista is one of the oldest and largest local charities in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. They have been working with people with sight loss and their families for over 150 years.

As well as rehabilitation, residential homes, social groups and befriending services, Vista provides specialist services for people with learning disabilities, dementia and dual sensory impairment.

From the point of diagnosis, Vista supports children and adults in eye clinics by providing information, advice, guidance and support when it's most needed.

They teach people with sight loss new skills and provide specialist equipment and tools. Qualified specialist staff have a wealth of experience in supporting people with sight loss to develop important practical, social and emotional skills, building their confidence and independence.

Vista also support children and adults with sight loss, providing specialist leisure activities, music therapy and professional rehabilitation support in both the home and the community.
